A Stage for Karnataka's Storytellers
An open call to filmmakers from across Karnataka, celebrating stories told in Kannada and rooted in the state's people, places, and culture.
Curated by a jury with deep connections to the regional film industry, the competition highlights local voices and distinctive storytelling. It is the category that celebrates BISFF's home ground while shining a spotlight on the richness of Kannada cinema.
The identity draws inspiration from the intricate forms of traditional Carnatic gold jewellery and the geometric patterns of temple kolams, enriched with motifs from Chittara, Karnataka's indigenous folk art tradition. Its palette reflects the colours of the Karnataka state flag, grounding the mark in the culture, heritage, and landscape of the region it represents.
