International Competition

Where World Cinema Finds Its Short Form.
An open call to short filmmakers from around the world.
Curated by an international jury, the competition celebrates outstanding storytelling across fiction, documentary, animation, and experimental cinema, bringing together bold new voices and distinctive visions from every corner of the globe.

The mark draws its silhouette from the square, a form that represents the four corners of the world, in the tradition of kolam. These squares layered and interwoven, come together to reflect the many countries, cultures, and films that shape BISFF's international programme.
Its deep blue and vibrant green palette is inspired by the colours of the Earth, symbolising the festival's global outlook and its commitment to bringing diverse cinematic voices together.
